Snoring and Sleep Apnoea Treatment
Anti-snoring splints. Explained.
A mandibular advancement device (MAD) is a dental appliance worn at night. It consists of two components fitted to the upper and lower teeth and keeps the jaw in a slightly forward, controlled position while you sleep. This advancement can increase the space available for airflow and reduce the vibration of the tissues responsible for snoring. Unlike generic devices, a custom anti-snoring splint is designed taking into account your teeth, your bite, jaw position and the function of the temporomandibular joints.

An anti-snoring splint isn't an occlusal splint
Who may benefit from an anti-snoring splint?
Treatment may be considered especially for people with habitual or primary snoring and for certain patients diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnoea, always based on the corresponding medical assessment.

Snoring and sleep apnoea: not the same

A splint designed for your mouth
When indicated, the device is custom-made based on the anatomy of your mouth. The mandibular advancement does not have to be set in a final position from day one. Depending on the device and the patient, it can be adjusted gradually to find a position that is comfortable and, at the same time, helps reduce snoring
